Ok, if the FDA insists on putting their noses in the business of how I fuel my body, then I want them to do something useful.
I propose a change in the naming conventions of domestic US seafood, and creating a “Designation of Origin” system of sorts, like with many European foods and wines.
It’s actually a rather simple change, and I believe it really meets the FDA’s objectives to obtain truth in labeling, so I think we need to switch up how we refer to the region of origin.
Pacific = “delicious”
Atlantic = “fishy”
Gulf = “toilet”
So, we end up with more truthful names, like
"West Coast Albacore Tuna" becomes "Delicious Albacore"
"Atlantic Salmon" becomes "Fishy Salmon"
"Gulf Shrimp" becomes "Toilet Shrimp"
Who’s with me?!
